Dabu Print
Akola & Bagru, Rajasthan
A thick paste of black clay, lime, gum and wheat chaff is stamped by wooden block and dusted with fine sawdust. Where the mud sits, the deep indigo cannot penetrate. Each successive dip in the subterranean indigo pit deepens the midnight blue ground while preserving the crisp raw resist.
